Warte mal, ihr seid keine Chiropraktiker?

Chiropraktik? Was ist das denn eigentlich?

„Chiropraktiker, Chiropraktor, Chiropractor, Chiropraktoren?“

Believe it or not, in Germany, the Chiropractic profession is not as regulated as in the rest of the world. Chiropractors in Germany work under the Heilpraktiker license. This licensure allows chiropractors to be a primary contact health care professional. Meaning, you don’t need a referral to visit a chiropractor. But what about all of the different names that one hears and reads? Chiropractor, Chiropraktor and Chiropraktiker? Great question, we find it a little confusing too.

Chiropraktor / Chiropractor

A Chiropractor or Chiropraktor is someone who has studied chiropractic at an internationally accredited university or college. The requirements of this program can vary from country to country and from college to college. We have listed the coursework and requirements of the college that we attended and graduated from in the United States below. Generally, to study Chiropractic you have to attend a 4-6 year-long program. Along with anatomy, physiology, diagnosis and therapeutic modalities, there is always a clinical portion of the program required, which involves clinical treatment of outpatients in a university clinic.

Chiropraktiker

A Chiropraktiker is someone who is a licensed therapist of some kind; usually also a Heilpraktiker but sometimes a Physiotherapist. They have attended seminars to further their original education in the subject matter of general chiropractic manipulation. There is no minimum requirement of study for this title. Good Chiropraktiker are those who have a deep understanding of correct analysis of chiropractic related issues of the human body and have received direct and explicit instruction on safe and patient appropriate chiropractic adjusting methods.

An Internationally recognized Profession

Was die World Health Organization (WHO) über das Chiropraktik Studium sagt
